Malofiej 20: dates confirmed

From March 18th to 23rd, 2012. Malofiej 20 has confirmed its dates and shown its new identity, as we can see at the SND-E web. An edition with surprises, according to the Spanish Chapter of the SND.
Judges will start their work on 18th and the International Summit will be inaugurated the 21st.

Awarded students

Just a few students could say they've got international awards by homework, but some of these are Alberto Cairo's guys at Chapel Hill. The two bronzes obtained in Malofiej this year by their multimedia documentaries Chasing Crusoe and Atacama Stories are added to the gold they got by the first of this features at the SND.ies and the Pictures of the Year Award also awarded to the same film.
Alberto uploaded to his web some other works of these talents. Maybe one of them will be the next year Peter Sullvan...

NYTimes gets Peter Sulllivan in a hard Malofiej edition

Malofiejs are awarded. Few medals this year, maybe that means that awards this year are especially significant. The big one, the Peter Sullivan, went to The New York Times for an interactive feature called Sector Snapshot. The Miguel Urabayen Award for the best map went to Die Welt am Somtag for a graphic about german migrations on II World War

Malofiej online

SND is introducing its new blog Update, on which Matt Mansfield and Jonathon Berlin (both from San Jose Mercury News) are posting about the Malofiej Awards, taking place this week in Pamplona (Spain). As they comment on the blog, this will be a special edition, bacuase John rimwade won't be there. He is preparing the new Portfolio magazine. Is the first Malofiej edition I remember without John, although my remembrances are just from 2000.

Malofiej 15 program

Spanish Chapter of SND published today the Show Don't Tell!, Interact don't tell! and Infographics World Summit program for the next Malofiej. Instructors for "don't tells" are Juan Velasco, Javier Zarracina and Geoff McGhee, and conferences will be given by Luis Miguel Taklim, Matt Ericsson, David Gray, Don Wittekind, Cóper, Alejandro Tumas, Aitor Eguinoa, Heber Longás, Paige West, Karin Sturm... and Mikel Urmeneta (Kukuxumuxu)
