The Excellency Award of the Infographics category, given by the Interamerican Press Society , went this year to Óscar Corvera and José Luis Contreras, from
La Prensa Gráfica (El Salvador) for their "complete infographic about the assault to an armoured truck, happenend the April 8th, 2006, including maps, sketches, photos and illustrations."
The Honourable Mention was given to Yelena Rodríguez, Nélson Fernández and Roy Hernández, from Panamá América by their prehistoric animals series.
The finalists were William Mariotto (O Estado de Sao Paulo) and José Ricardo Orellana Salinas (La Prensa Gráfica)
